Veneers:
Veneers are ultra thin high strength facings made of advanced porcelains and can literally change your
smile. They are used to change shape, color, size, and arrangement of teeth or any combination of these factors.
Dental conditions, such as diastemas (spaces between the teeth) and permanently stained or discolored teeth, can
be easily corrected with porcelain veneers. This procedure is relatively simple, comfortable, and is less invasive
than ever before. Just think, with two visits to our office, you can have a beautiful smile.
Tooth Whitening:
For many patients happy with the shape and form of their teeth but unhappy with the color,
bleaching may be the simplest solution. This process is used for whitening of dark, dull,or stained teeth. We will
create a custom fit tray and provide you with bleaching products necessary to improve your smile. A properly
made tray is essential for keeping the whitening solution in contact with the tooth structure for as long as the tray
is in the mouth. All you have to do is wear this tooth whitening tray for several hours while you sleep. That’s it!
Within a few weeks you will notice that your teeth and appearance will brighten up.
Porcelain Crowns (without metal):
One of the more recent break throughs in dentistry has been the invention of an
all porcelain covering or crown. These crowns, which are placed on the patient’s front teeth, are currently the
treatment of choice when old large fillings or crowns need to be replaced. Many people are unhappy with previous
crowns due to the shade and/or the appearance of a dark shade around their gums. These porcelain crowns allow
natural light to filter through, providing a beautiful, natural looking result. This will allow the color to be more
life-like and eliminate any darkness near the gumline.
White Restorations (white fillings):
Our office is dedicated to providing the highest quality dentistry which is why
we no longer use silver (mercury) fillings. Instead, resin bonded restorations are used to create both a more natural
looking result with the strength that a resin filling can provide. We at this office feel so strongly about this
procedure that we have given this it own personal web page. If you have any questions please consult this page.
Implants:
Implants are used in dentistry to replace missing teeth. When a permanent tooth is lost, the support and
chewing forces are altered and the remaining teeth will begin to shift. The teeth surrounding the one that was lost
will begin to move up and out of position. This accelerates periodontal (gum) disease and causes further
breakdown in dental arch. Placement of an implant is a way to regain the security, appearance, and strength of
your natural tooth. This process involves two steps. First, a specialist (usually an oral surgeon or periodontist) will
place the implant. Second, our office will attach a crown to the implant. The result will give long-lasting,
natural-looking results that will make a dramatic difference in your appearance.
Bridges:
Just like implants, a bridge is another way to replace a missing tooth or teeth. The reasons for replacing
missing teeth are the same as stated in the implant paragraph. A bridge is a way to maximize your smile, speech,
and chewing function. It is anchored by one or more crowns on each side of the space and is made from superior
materials. The procedure will take two appointments and the result will help restore and maintain the natural bite
with superior esthetics.
Air Abrasion (painless dentistry):
This is the latest technology introduced into dentistry. In the past dentist have
observed stained teeth until the decay is large enough to soften the tooth. By this time, the patient must have a
filling placed in the tooth using the traditional process (getting num, etc.). With air abrasion our office is able to
remove the stain before it becomes decay. The machine acts like a sand-blaster which gently removes all stain and
areas of concern. Due to being proactive with our diagnosis the patient does not have to be anesthetized and takes
a fraction of the time a normal filling would take. Just imagine walking into a dental office, having work done in
your mouth and walking out without pain, without anesthetic and without the noise of a drill. Yes, the future is
here.
